As a surgeon and educator, Dr. Ralph Broadwater understands the rigors and demands of physicians, and his interest in finance led him to diversify his depth of knowledge into the investment arena. For over 25 years he has practiced medicine and been an astute investor. He has gained the respect and confidence of his peers in the medical – and financial – worlds. He has a dual career: helping patients with complex cancers; and, helping physicians and their families achieve their financial and personal goals.
Ralph is one of only four physicians named to Medical Economics list of “150 Best Financial Advisers for Doctors.” His practice identifies the unique needs of physicians with a focus on wealth creation, money management and wealth management in retirement. As a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, he has worked with both established and young physicians since 1996, helping them identify and meet their goals, and effectively invest for their future.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He attended medical school and completed his surgical residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed a two-year Fellowship in surgical oncology at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas before returning to Arkansas to establish an exemplary surgical oncology practice. In addition to his financial planning practice, Dr. Broadwater continues his medical practice. Best Doctors, Inc., the leading physician rating and comprehensive medical knowledge company, named him one of the Best Doctors in America.
Ralph is married to Anne Jansen Broadwater, former news anchor with the CBS television affiliate in Little Rock. They have two sons, John and Michael, and enjoy travel, cooking, golf and snow-skiing.
